Warming Law has not been shy about criticizing Mr. Bush for his longstanding recalcitrance on the issue of global warming. And I'm sure we'll continue to criticize, particularly if EPA ignores the plain requirements of the Clean Air Act and refuses to grant California a preemption waiver for its rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions from new cars and trucks. But I think it appropriate to pause, however briefly, to acknowledge that Mr. Bush has signed the energy bill into law, notwithstanding the broad-based veto threats he issued last week. Mr. President, today you did the right thing. I hope this is the beginning of a trend.
UM no it's not the beginning of a trend. The auto industry capitulated to the 35mpg cafe standards and the oil industry continues to get its 21 billion in subsidies.
